Dofflemyer
Development, LLC,
a class “A” building contractor, was founded in 2001
by Barry G. Dofflemyer, a lifelong resident and business owner
in Charlottesville, VA. Dofflemyer Development LLC is a custom
home building company that has evolved around the building talents
of Barry & Nancy Dofflemyer. As of January 1, 2004 Barry &
Nancy’s oldest son Todd joined the company after working
with a prominent real estate development and management company
based in Richmond Virginia with a satellite office in Miami Florida.
Todd served as one of the companies Vice President’s and
was involved in growing the company into a significant player
in the development, construction and management of apartment homes
and for-sale single family homes.
Starting
many years ago building their own commercial buildings, the family
developed experience with seasoned, crafted builders which created
a background of skills and techniques that we use today. The company
employs its own staff of experienced carpenters and meticulously
selects its subcontractors from those we have become familiar
with during our many years of exposure to the construction field,
to ensure each and every home is built with the utmost quality
standards.
Dofflemyer
Development LLC is not a "large" builder, yet has available
to it all the resources that "large" builders are accustomed
to, while providing hands on quality customer service that only
a small builder of our size can provide. While we have only built
only 3-4 cost controlled, "custom speculative" and "custom"
homes per year, with the addition of Todd’s management talents
to the team, we plan to increase our production to 5-10 homes
per year. While we plan to increase our productivity, a member
of our management team will continue to be on each jobsite daily
to insure the quality and personal attention to details that we
desire.
We use only the highest grade of materials and workmanship; "poor
workmanship" is simply not tolerated. We think we've created
a wonderful team that can build truly unique homes. When you buy
from us you benefit from a team that has risen through the ranks
in the construction, real estate development, real estate management
and general business industries. We have the practical and business
knowledge to create wonderful homes, while providing our customers
with excellent customer service.
Our
overall objective is to seize a prime opportunity and apply our
experience to developing real estate and building first class
homes, while operating a profitable company.
Management
Barry
and Todd manage the business as a team. Barry is a graduate of
the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Science in Commerce
degree. Barry has over 30 years of experience in running small
businesses, more specifically; he has successfully operated several
pet care facilities. All of which he personally managed the construction
of the facilities and or additions thereto.
Most
recently Barry has been personally running Dofflemyer Development,
while his son Barton has taken over the day to day management
of the family pet care businesses (Wakefield Kennel in Earlysville,
Virginia and The Dogg House in Charlottesville, Virginia).
Todd
is a graduate of Virginia Tech, where he holds a Bachelor of Science
degree in Housing, Interior Design and Resource Management with
a specialty in Property Management. Todd also spent two years
in the Building Construction program in the Architecture School
at Virginia Tech. In addition to his degree Todd holds the Certified
Property Manager (CPM) designation from the Institute of Real
Estate Management and the Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) designation
from the National Apartment Association.
